Executive Director's Annual Report Message
Seniors Vs Crime is a Special Project of the Florida Attorney General. The Project began in 1989 as a crime prevention program utilizing senior volunteers in educating their peers and promoting fellow seniors to become involved in their own protection. The Project has now grown into a statewide organization that provides direct services to senior victims as well as continuing our educational component. The Project has now become one of the most unique and successful volunteer programs in the nation in assisting and protecting senior citizens..
Enjoy your visit to our site. I hope that the information provided here will be of interest to you or possibly help you with a problem. Remember-we are staffed by volunteers whose only payment is the smiles of thankful people they have helped. If we recover $1.00 or $100.000.00 the result is the same. ALL money goes back to the complainant. Our services are totally free!
I invite you to read the Seniors vs Crime Annual Report to the Florida Attorney General. This report will answer many questions about the Seniors vs. Crime Project while also documenting the success that the Project has had over the past year in assisting those who needed our help. In addition to the history of the Project, administration of the programs, partnerships and statistical data, the report also has case synopses from all areas of the state. These case briefs will show you the wide variety of complaints that we handle and the success that our Senior Sleuths have in resolving often complex cases.
If you are in need of assistance, or if you wish to have someone speak to your group, or if you wish to pursue volunteer opportunities with Seniors vs Crime, you will find the links below that will take you to those areas where you can read about What We Do and connect directly with us. If you would prefer to visit an office and meet with a Senior Sleuth volunteer directly, we have provided a Project Offices page where you will find the details for the office nearest to you. Please call to set up an appointment or to ask any questions you may have. You may also call our toll-free number 1-800-203-3099 to request assistance, volunteer, request a speaker or simply ask questions.
The Seniors vs. Crime Project is successful due to the outstanding support of the Attorney General and the strong partnerships being developed with law enforcement and senior services groups throughout the state. None of our success would have been possible without the quality of work performed by our extraordinary Senior Sleuth volunteers. Our continued success depends on our Senior Sleuth volunteers and the dedication they bring to the Project.
Seniors vs. Crime is always in need of volunteers who wish to give back to their communities. There are many ways to contribute as noted on the page Who We Are. If you are ready to volunteer now-simply fill out a volunteer application. You will then be contacted by the Regional Director for the area where you live with more information for you.
Again, Welcome to our site.
Sincerely,
Steve Renico
